All hospitals and other health care establishments generating bio medical wastes are hereby given notice to make an application to Maharashtra Pollution Control Board for obtaining authorisation as required under Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998 notified under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. A proof of membership of the Common Facility for Management of Biomedical Wastes, Authorised by MPCB for your area shall also be submitted along with the application. Those who fail to comply before AUGUST 16, 2004, prosecution proceedings shall be initiated by MPCB under Section 15 of the said Act..
